Blogging Hypocrite

I've been ribbing many blog friends about how long has elapsed since their last post. Now I realize that a whole week has gone by since my last post. I was hoping to be truer than that.

I have been submitting recipes over at J.R.'s blog wiiweightlossplan.com. You should check them out. Part of losing weight is taking your nutrition seriously.

I have not been as true as I hoped mostly because I have found myself amidst an undesired controversy at work, so I am looking for other employment opportunities. This is consuming a lot of my time. Revamping a resume is no easy task, nor is going to great lengths to dig up viable leads. So, I'm working on it. I know it isn't Wii, but I picked up Taiko Drum Master last Friday, and am working up a decent sweat playing that for a few minutes a night. If you have a PS2 (because we all know it was the dominant gaming force of the last generation), it is worth picking up if you have rhythm. If you don't, don't bother. You'll just get frustrated.

Well, off to shower so I can wake up at 4am tomorrow to do it all over again.

Workin' for a Livin'

My job has kept me pretty run down, so I have had to make the decision to either workout, or get the stuff that is screaming for my attention done. The last couple of days, I've come to the realization that I need to get stuff done. So, no workouts. I'm bummed about this, but I'm also in the market for a new job, so it will end eventually.

I posted a new recipe over at JR Cook's site, Wii Weightloss Plan. You should go over and check it out. It's so good, and good for you. And there's more where that came from.

Anyone have any tips, tricks or cheats for Wii Sports? Aside from the bowling-ball bobomb in "Power Throws?" I've been looking for something else to goof off with on there.

I missed my workout last night, so I have little to say or ask. My wife has a kidney infection, so I spent every moment from when I left work until I showered and hit the sheets (10:15pm) at urgent care trying to help out and be supportive. That may not sound late to many gamers, but I get up at 4am to go to work.

I'll get some stuff going tomorrow or later tonight. Maybe some recipes from the "Nintendo Fat Camp Specialty Selection." I don't make crappy food. It should taste good to lose weight.

Senor Havin A Little Trouble

I'm working on Pierre on Wii Sports Boxing, but I'm having some difficulty with him. It is now becoming an issue that I can't seem to get the Wiimote to respond to my commands for roundhouse punches and uppercuts. Is anyone else struggling with this, or am I the only one? I'm sick of being dropped to the mat because the console won't execute. I'm also having trouble getting it to punch sometimes. About 20% of the time, when I throw a punch, it doesn't respond. And to answer the first question, yes, it has fresh batteries.

Well, I stopped a two week trend of minor gains with a one pound loss for the last week! Can I get an AMEN?! I weighed in this morning on my usually fairly empty stomach (save steel cut oats and coffee) and actually lost a little over one and a half. An even 227! That was even after eating pizza this weekend, and half a pint of Hagen Daas Bailey's Irish Cream flavored ice cream. So, what have we learned? Let's review:

1. So far there is a measurable difference in effect between no Wii and using Wii for one week
2. Jared is right (that's most important of course ;)

So, now I ask, "Would You Hit That?"

From The Get-Go

I started this blog after seeing several others on losing weight playing Wii Sports on the Nintendo Wii. I need to shed at least 20 pounds, so I'm giving it a go.

Where I am now: I weighed in at 228.6 as of last week. I'll weigh myself again today. I'm somewhere between 6' and 6'6" depending on which convenience store I'm walking out of.

What exactly am I doing: I'm commiting to play Wii Sports on my Nintendo Wii for at least 30 minutes a day for five days a week. I started last week on Tuesday, and I was faithful to it all week. Now, you can play Wii Sports by just using your wrist and not moving around much, but that doesn't give you much in the way of exercise. I'm using full arm extension. Now, I'm sticking mostly to tennis and boxing. Boxing is a real workout. I'm using bowling for my cool down at the end of the session.

What else am I doing: Nothing. I changed my diet a bit over a month ago. I honestly can't hardly recall what I was eating before, but I've already revamped my diet and maxed out what I can lose doing that. I was weighing in at 233.8 about a month ago, but I lost a couple of pounds after a few weeks of new eating habits. I have fluctuated up and down over the last few weeks, so it's time to do something more.

I'll update when I weigh myself a little later today. So, here Wii go!
